Thankful

I've loved reading Andrea and Kelly's thankful posts, so because I'm a follower I've decided to join them with my thankfulness for the month of November. I'm a big fan of November. It brings in the crisp air, an extra hour of sleep, Thanksgiving and most importantly MY birthday! There are a lot of things to be thankful for.

Being thankful should come easier than it does, our world doesn't really promote it very well. It's not like we turn on the news and the reporters are talking about all the good things that happened today, sadly it's the opposite. It's litered with war, death, missing people, bad weather, economic strife, Kim Kardashian's divorce (who was shocked by this?!)...drama, drama, drama. So, at least for a month on my blog I will promise to be thankful!

I'm thankful for our home.
It's not too big, not too small it's just right for our little family!

I'm thankful for a brother-in-law coming home soon.
He has bravely been serving our country in Iraq. I'm so proud of him and can't wait for him to come home!

I'm thankful for extra laundry.
Yup, you read right. If I didn't have a sweet little girl I wouldn't have the extra laundry. I love folding those little socks!

I'm thankful for a hard-working husband.
Greg works so hard, so hard I don't see him very often but I know he is doing it for our family. He is a pretty great husband and dad :)

Whew, that felt good!  What are you thankful for?

A Little Family Love

I have the best family in the world! The last few months has taught me a great deal on the importance of family, the Lord and your family are the only ones that will be there when no one else will (especially when you don't deserve it). I'm also blessed because the majority of our family live close to us. This weekend I had a good dose of family!
My cousin Tucker plays baseball for Idaho State and they played BSU this weekend and my grandparents came into town to watch. It was a beautiful fall day, perfect for baseball which has always been my favorite sport to watch, who doesn't like crisp fall days, *good* hot dogs, hot coco and of course sunflower seeds...and how about that World Series this year!! It was a perfect Saturday!
Great-grandma and Everlee.

The whole gang! Uncle Bob and Aunt Kim, Tanner, Grandpa and Grandma Martins, Grandma Schmeck (Greg's taking the pic)..it looks like I'm bossing Greg a bit doesn't it?

4 generations!

I love how much Tucker looks like Josh! He's quite the stud in his own right! He played a great game!! Go ISU!

She's learning to love baseball...just such a long day!
On Sunday, we were invited to Matt and Andrea's for some yummy Carne Asada (cooked on 'wicked good' charcoal) and pumpkin carving! We love that these guys are so close to us that we can just pop on over whenever! :)

The baby whisperer...don't tell him but I think he enjoyed this!

Andrea said his braces make him cuter and I agree!!

How cute is that polka-dot pumpkin?!

Everlee LOVES her Auntie A!
All-in-all a great weekend! Monday came too fast, we did get to have some Halloween fun, oh wait, let me be more "PC" Harvest Fun...
We spent it with some crazy Young Life kids, it was a blast but I'm a bad momma...I didn't take any pictures of her Halloween outfit! Oops, I'll have to recreate it! :)

Orchard Outing

Being at home is such a blessing, it allows me to take care of our home but it also gives me the opportunity to be around family more! Especially the best GREAT aunt in the world! Who, by the way, is really talented with a sewing machine, check out her goodies!

She is quite the "domesticated diva" (she doesn't know I call her that, but take my word for it this momma knows what she is doing!)

I mentioned to her I wanted to learn to can and with it being apple season we took a little trip to a local orchard a couple weeks ago to pick up some apples and pumpkins. I meant to take some pictures but I forgot to put the SD card back into my camera before we left, I'd like to say this was a one-time mistake but it's happened A LOT! I would have also liked to post some pictures of me actually canning but again, forgot to document the process!

At any rate, I'm stealing pictures of the orchard trip from Andrea...
Something about this picture just makes me smile, can't you just smell the crisp fall air?
Ugh, don't you just love fall! It's my FAVORITE season!
I feel like I look like a witch in this picture but I still love this picture of me and my favorite 7 year old! :)
She's pretty enthusiastic about the pumpkins!
Such a proud cousin!

Well, good morning, would you like to join the rest of us?!
I'm sad we didn't get a picture of all of us but who wants to see the adults when you have 2 cute kids with you, right?
I made some applesauce, apple butter, apple juice, apple cider, and an apple crumple dessert! Shockingly I still had HALF a box...then my lovely mother gave me another huge box of apples. So we all know what I'll be doing next week! I'll make sure to take some pictures too!

Happy Fall!!

Actually it's Seriously Amazing...My Life!

I've noticed I say these 3 words A LOT (You've probably noticed too)!

But seriously...
I do have an AMAZING life! Sometimes I just need to be reminded!

Since my last pitiful blog post God has calmed my heart. He also gave me an awesome husband and pretty wonderful women to give me some advice and help me out.
I tend to over-think everything and worry when there isn't even anything to worry about! Anyone else like this...no...just me?! I've realized I need to just chill out and let God work. ACTUALLY...I needed some help from my husband to remind me that I'm like this.

I have a great opportunity to help out and work from home. Greg and I decided that it would be a good idea to at least give it a try. So I've started my first week working part-time from home. It's quite an adjustment for me and also for those I work with. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be (it's only been a few days though). I think if I stick to my guns and get organized it will be even easier. The 4 hours a day seems to go pretty fast, which is nice. Anything is worth trying right?!

I think I'm going to hang this in my "home office"... He is on my side, why worry so much?

I'll hang this one right next to it...

Next time you hear me stressing about something...please just tell me to chill out. I'm going to give myself an ulcer!
